A Beautiful Bright Red Cardinal

Many of us are stuck at home, whether working or just hunkering down. Today, the most direct way we receive communication with family or friends is by phone, perhaps a Zoom, or a FaceTime call. So many of us are missing the close contact of our children and loved ones. We all want to reach out and touch someone. With this spirit in mind, my team and I are calling and talking with many of you…

It’s such a pleasure speaking with so many of you, making sure you are healthy and safe, discussing the markets, your investments, and providing your quarterly reviews.

Even though we all are stuck at home, many of you share stories of your day-to-day adventures such as working in your garden, the walks you’re taking around the neighborhood, exercise routines, food recipes, and how you are enjoying your daily happy hour at 5 o’clock.

In turn, I would like share with you an interesting happening at our home.

We have a new visitor.

A beautiful bright red cardinal.

He has shown up and hangs out around our home, flying up to
our window, pecking on the glass or flying directly into it. The
cardinal has been visiting every day for over three weeks now
and begins his daily routine of flying to the window and banging
his beak or resting on a tree branch close by, peeking into our
windows. Everywhere my wife (Donna) goes, the bird perches
on that particular window, whether it be the front or rear of our
home. This beautiful cardinal is most persistent during the
morning while Donna is enjoying her coffee in the TV room. She
just waves to it and chuckles.

I have hung newspaper to cover up the entire window, first
inside, and then on the outside. That didn’t deter him at all. Our
new friend is relentless and keeps showing up every day. We
watch him in total amazement, thinking he should have better
things to do.

I’ve discussed this new visitor with several friends and each one
has their own interpretation of our returning cardinal. I would
like to share a couple of the most interesting thoughts
mentioned:

A cardinal is a representative of a loved one who has passed.
When you see one, it means they are visiting you. They usually
show up when you most need them or miss them. They also
make an appearance during times of celebration as well as
despair to let you know they will always be with you. Messages
from the spiritual realm have been transmitted to human beings
in many ways and forms since the beginning of mankind.

The red cardinal is enveloped in all kinds of traditions and
myths. Many of these are about good health; renewal; and happy,
healthy relationships just to name a few. Hopefully my cardinal
is a sign that things are looking up for all of us!

Hope you liked our cardinal story. We wish you all the best.
